The Biden Administration will not rest until it imposes transgender ideology on every facet of our lives.
You may recall that the Department of Education has proposed a rewrite of Title IX that would redefine gender to include “gender identity,” effectively erasing women, undermining women’s sports, and forcing women to compete against men for scholarships, awards, and in athletics.
What many people don’t know is that the same plan is afoot at the Department of Health and Human Services, which has proposed a similar rule regarding gender identity and healthcare. To put it simply, the proposed change would make it illegal for doctors and hospitals to deny or limit health services based on gender identity. As the Federalist Society explains, this means:
If the proposed regulations are adopted, doctors and hospitals will be required to provide gender transition services, including for children, if they provide the same services for non-transition related purposes. While it is permissible under the proposed regulations for a health care professional to refuse to provide gender transition services to a particular patient based on medical judgment, “a provider’s view that no gender transition or other gender-affirming care can ever be beneficial for such individuals (or its compliance with a state or local law that reflects a similar judgment) is not a sufficient basis for a judgment that a health service is not clinically appropriate.” Many health care professionals view gender transitions as controversial, harmful, and irreversible, and contrary to their conscience and best medical judgment.
In addition, the rule attempts to undermine freedom of conscience and freedom of religion when it comes to performing abortions, thereby ignoring the Supreme Court’s recent decision and continuing Biden’s pro-abortion crusade.
It should be stressed that this rule from HHS may become the law of the land – even without going through Congress or getting a vote.
That’s because the left knows how unpopular their views are. They know that most people dislike transgender ideology. This is their way to impose their views on the nation without having to endure the political fallout.
There is something we can do, however. There is still time to submit comments on the proposed rule. Anyone can comment – you don’t have to be part of an organization or an expert on the topic. Just go to this page and follow the instructions on how to submit your own views on this change to the law.
The comment period ends today, Monday, October 3rd, so be sure to act now!
